Enhanced glossary with reverse-replacement for Modify News
build 2.4
Abe's Glossary is an enhanced glossary addon which can perform replacements on whatever fields you choose.
The best thing about Abe is that when you modify news, it will reverse the replacement. So, if you have a smiley face emote being replaced by an image, the image SRC will be stored in the database, but when you modify news, it appears to be a smiley emote. Very useful and convenient!
Abe 2.3 makes Abe compatible with WorkBench and it makes the Abe glossary page more space-efficient. (I don't know why I was using textareas to begin with, silly me. )
Abe 2.4 fixes a strange bug with Modify News which only occured if "All Fields" was selected in Abe's settings page.
Abe 2.4 also adds an option which allows you to choose if replacements should be "whole word" or "inline" - that is, do a plain search and replace without worrying about whether the glossary replacement is being done to a whole word or a partial word.
search for "Cat" and replacing with "Cradle" in the following sentence using "whole words only" (case sensitive):
"My name is Cathy and I like my Cat." becomes:
"My name is Cathy and I like my Cradle."
search for "Cat" and replacing with "Cradle" in the following sentence using "partial words" (case sensitive):
"My name is Cathy and I like my Cat." becomes:
"My name is Cradlehy and I like my Cradle."
